Mina 5 bästa och sämsta upplevelser i Almedalen.

Just nu är det mycket topplistor och recensioner kring Almedalsveckan. Jag vill inte vara sämre, så nu när jag vilat och fått lite perspektiv, så måste jag också sammanställa några listor ur mitt perspektiv som förstagångsbesökare.  

Topp 5, Almedalen 2014.

  1. Visby
    Jag har bara varit i Visby en gång tidigare, ett dygn på jobb, och hann egentligen inte se någonting. Den här gången hinner jag lite mer, och snacka om vacker stad. Inte bara vackervacker, utan mer charmigt vacker där man verkligen kan känna dess historia. När man går i gränderna tidigt på morgonen (mindre folk då) så kan man lätt föreställa sig det liv som en gång har levts här. Det liv som levs idag kretsar mycket kring turismen och det märks ju så klart på utbudet i affärerna, men inte så störigt som på andra turistorter, det finns en känsla för det ursprungliga på något sätt. Jag kommer att åka tillbaka, privat, och då kommer jag ge hela Gotland en chans. Jag måste här passa på att berömma Visbys krögare och dess personal, att på ett så effektivt och bra sätt serva alla oss som var där och dessutom leverera den kvalitén på maten har jag aldrig upplevt någon annanstans, jag ger Visby högsta betyg, 5 av 5.
     
  2. Ahmed Abdirahim
    Livet handlar på något sätt om möten, men dessa möten mellan människor blir lätt möten med människor med liknande bakgrund och tankar, och därför kanske inte så uppfräschande. Mitt möte med Ahmed, utbildare på Fryshuset, var en slump, en lycklig slump. Ahmed har invandrarbakgrund och kommer från Stockholms förorter, iklädd träningsoverall kliver han ombord på IHMs båt och vi snackar lite. Under samtalen vi har under kvällen så växer det fram en, i många stycken, arg ung kille, sådana killar som jag brukar läsa om i tidningen när de bränner bilar i frustration över att de inte känner sig som en del av framtiden. Inte Ahmed, han använder sin ilska och frustration för att förändra och förbättra på ett mycket mer konstruktivt sätt, han tar diskussionerna på högsta politiska ort, han tar diskussionerna med unga människor, han tar diskussionerna med företagens ledningsgrupper, och han ger sig inte, han vill förändra och skapa framtidstro för alla unga som känner sig utanför, NU! Han berättar om att han ofta fått höra från politiskt håll och av maktens kvinnor och män; – Men var hittar man sådana som dig? I början blev han stolt, men efter att ha tänkt ett tag så blev han förbannad; – Vad menar du med sådana som mig? Det finns massor av sådana som mig men ni tittar inte, det finns massor av människor med kunskaper och erfarenhet men de får inte chansen, det finns massor av streetsmarta killar och tjejer som vi håller på att förlora för att de tappat tron på att de är en del av framtiden. Jag tror på den här killen och jag tror att han kan få genomslag, jag ser fram emot mitt nästa möte med Ahmed som blir efter sommaren.
     
  3. GIL
    Göteborgskooperativet för Independent Living låter alltid tala om sig, CP-dockan, CP-ölen m.m. alltid med en tydlig provokation som väckarklocka, klart de ska synas i Almedalen också. Klistermärken med en överstruken handikappsymbol, förbjudet för handikappade, sattes upp på alla hinder i Visby. Klart att det är svårt att göra en gammal stad handikappvänlig men varför lägga till hinder? Överallt så låg det höga överkörningsskydd för kablar till de olika montrarna, och jag såg flera rullstolsburna som fick vända för att de inte kom över. Om nu Almedalen är en demokratisk tummelplats så måste det gå att göra smidigare lösningar, som går att komma över, det är 2014 nu. De ordnade också CP-parkour för politiker och andra, jag missade tyvärr den men jag förstår att det blev lyckat. En sen kväll så sitter jag med några från GIL och tar några öl, vi har en kul diskussion om allt och ingenting och efter ett tag så bestämmer vi att vi ska ses nästa dag, jag bestämmer en plats och Anders som är rullstolsbunden frågar mig om han kan komma dit med rullstol, jag svarar att det blir lite knepigt men att jag hjälper honom. Det är precis det jag inte vill Håkan, jag vill kunna träffa dig och ta en öl utan att behöva hjälp. Polletten trillar ner, det tog ett tag men jag fattar. Jag tror och hoppas att fler fattar tack vare GILs arbete, kör på!
     
  4. Stämningen
    Att stämningen kan vara elektrisk har jag hört många gånger men mer sällan upplevt, här gör jag det. När jag går omkring på söndag förmiddag och tittar på när de sista montrarna byggs, när de sista kablarna dras och när det slipas på de första talen som ska hållas, så är det så mycket energi så att det känns elektriskt. Politiker, journalister, monterbyggare, korvförsäljarna, taxichaufförerna, poliserna och alla andra håller andan, snart drar det igång, supervalåret 2014 ska formas publikt, och alla, alla vill vara en del av det, oerhört laddat.
     
  5. Demokrati
    Det känns väldigt fint att alla, verkligen alla kan komma till tals under Almedalsveckan, visst skiljer det i resurser både ekonomiskt och personellt, men jag ser flera exempel på organisationer som med små medel faktiskt lyckas tända strålkastaren och få vara en stund i rampljuset. Att uppleva detta i TV-soffan är något helt annat än att vara på plats, journalister söker ju sällan det lite udda som verkar i det lilla, när man på plats själv får välja så finns det en uppsjö av människor som vill komma till tals just med dig och mig. Spännande!

Botten 5, Almedalen 2014

  1. Publiken
    Mitt i folkhavet så slår det mig plötsligt att det är väldigt få människor här, ja inte få till antalet men vanliga människor som rest dit för att se och uppleva Almedalen. De flesta är där i tjänsten, precis som jag själv, eller är medlem i något parti som på sin stora dag har sett till att massor av redan frälsta partivänner båtas (istället för bussas) dit tidigt på morgonen och hem sent på kvällen när strålkastarna släckts, allt för att visa de i sofforna hemma vilket stort stöd just deras parti har. Det här känns konstigt, ena dagen är det fullt av Socialdemokrater i Visby och nästa dag är de utbytta mot Kristdemokrater osv. Det känns lite Truman Show över det hela.
     
  2. Priset på boende
    Det här är naturligtvis en del i förklaringen varför inte fler vanliga hittar hit, det är svindyrt att bo under Almedalsveckan. Priserna i övrigt, på mat och dryck känns inte alls så farligt, ungefär som vilken sommarstad som helst, och faktiskt ibland billigare än i Stockholm. Men att bo i en liten skrubb, visserligen ganska charmig, för mellan 1.500 och 2.000 kr natten skrämmer nog de flesta och båt har inte alla tillgång till. Här tror jag att det behövs nya friska tankar om man vill ha dit lite vanligt folk också.
     
  3. Tiden
    Det går faktiskt inte att få tiden att räcka till, jag försökte. Men varje kväll när jag summerade dagen så kom det till nya punkter som jag missat, enligt det officiella programmet så är det över 3.300 programpunkter under veckan, lägg till lika många inofficiella så är man nog närmare sanningen. Så förlåt till alla de som jag lovade att träffa, kanske hinner vi nästa år.
     
  4. Allmänna toaletter
    Det här är aldrig en rolig upplevelse, i någon stad, i något land, men när man bor på en båt i hamnen och är beroende av detta lilla kryp-in så blir det högst påtagligt, det finns grisar ibland oss. Hur de lyckats infiltrera den mänskliga rasen vet jag inte, detta kanske måste upp på den politiska agendan, om det inte redan är försent. För trots att mina grannar i båtarna är trevliga och roliga, trots att vi alla har ett nyckelkort som gör att bara vi i vår lilla båtcommunity har tillgång till dessa duschar och toaletter och trots att städpersonalen är där morgon, middag, kväll så är det grisigt. Jag tänker inte gå in på ämnet mer detaljerat än så här för jag är övertygade om att ni redan vet, ni kunde väl ha varnat mig!
     
  5. Demokrati
    Demokrati är den sämsta statsformen, bortsett från alla de andra, sa Winston Churchill. Och vissa dagar, eller kanske mer rättvist, minuter här i Almedalen så känner jag tydligt att just demokratins styrka, att alla ska få komma till tals, också blir dess svaghet. Det är inte ok att i demokratins namn skrämma och förtrycka människor, det kan inte vara ok att folk ska känna sig hotade under det som ska vara det yttersta beviset på att Sverige är ett demokratiskt land, Almedalen. Det här måste vi prata om, prata mer om, som Navid Modiri skulle ha uttryckt det.
