Jag kan bli lite trött på tanken att det bara skulle finnas en väg att gå, bara för att stigen är upptrampad är det inte säkert att det är närmsta eller bästa vägen. Jag är nyfiken helt enkelt.</p><p><em>– Så hur ser din väg in i besöksnäringen ut?</em></p><p>– Oj, den är både lång och krokig. Jag började med extrajobb som smörgåsnisse på Stallmästaregården när jag var 15 år, det blev några år där, en tid som jag värderar högt idag för där fick jag lära mig av de gamle gardet servitörer. De jobbade med stor stolthet och noggrannhet i sin yrkesutövning som jag kan sakna ibland hos delar av yngre generationerna, jag kan känna en stor tacksamhet över att jag fick lära av de gamla rävarna och jag hoppas att jag kan förmedla den kunskapen vidare.</p><p>Vägen fortsatte sedan i en hotellreception i Malmö, kassan på Willys, säsongare på Spa hotell i Storhogna på vintern och i Vadstena på sommaren för att nämna några.</p><p><em>– Vad var det du trivdes så bra med i den här branschen?</em></p><p>– Människorna! Det är det många roliga människor som jobbar i branschen men det viktigaste är gästerna, jag gillar att möta upp deras förväntningar när de ska ut på restaurang eller bo på hotell. Jobbet, oavsett var man är, blir väldigt sällan till rutin, det händer grejer hela tiden och man måste vara lösningsorienterad.</p><p><em>– Men någonstans på vägen så kände du ändå att du ville utbilda dig?</em></p><p>– Ja, efter en sommar och höst på Radisson BLU Strand Hotel och Radisson BLU Royal Viking så kände jag att jag måste ta tag i vad jag vill göra i mitt yrkesliv, då var jag 21 år och tyckte att branschen var väldigt rolig men att jag inte kom någon vart. Jag hade hört talas om IHM och sökte in till Redovisningsekonom på IHM.</p><p><img alt=" yrkeshögskola yh-utbildning event utbildning turismutbildning turism" src="/sites/default/files/content/seeman_solo.jpg" style="height: 800px; width: 800px;" /></p><p><em>– Redovisningsekonom?</em></p><p>– Ja, jag hade en tanke om att det skulle passa mig men efter kontakt med en av era rådgivare, jag har glömt namnet men hon borde ha en blomma, så insåg jag att det inte var något för mig. Hon riktade in mig på det som idag heter <a href="/utbildning/konceptutvecklare-event-besoksnaring">IHM Konceptutvecklare Event &amp; Besöksnäring</a> istället, och det ångrar jag inte! Jag började där 2010 samtidigt som jag jobbade extra på Berns Stockholm.</p><p><em>– Vad var det du fick under utbildningen som du inte hade efter dina år i branschen?</em></p><p>– Helhetsperspektivet! Jag hade jobbat med många olika delar men kanske aldrig sett till helheten, men nu så fick jag en bra överblick och verktygen för att göra ett bättre jobb. Dessutom fick jag många nya kontakter bland mina klasskamrater, vi var en bra klass och jag har nog kontakt med ca 10 personer fortfarande. Under mina LIA-perioder (Lärande i arbete) så fick jag bra mentorer som jag fortfarande bollar med.  Här måste jag nämna Kenneth Hallström på Stallmästaregården som tog emot mig på marknadsavdelningen och som fortfarande betyder mycket som inspiratör och bollplank. Ingmari Pagenkemper som jag träffade på LIA nummer 2 är också en person som betytt och betyder mycket för mig, jag fick vara marknadsassistent på Hamburger Börs under hennes ledning och sedan rekryterade hon mig till Södra Teatern.</p><p><em>– Så det var där du var innan Pop House?</em></p><p>– Ja, jag hann med något år på säljavdelningen Nordic Choice Hotel och B2B försäljning på Comfort Hotel också. Sedan blev det Södra Teatern där jag började jobba med att strukturera upp eventavdelningen och en hel del sälj och slutade efter två år som driftchef. Oerhört spännande och lärorikt i ett hus med en total kapacitet på ca 2500 människor samtidigt om man räknar med Mosebacketerrassen.</p><p><em>– I den här vevan så startar du också nätverket YCHL, berätta!</em></p><p><img alt=" yrkeshögskola yh-utbildning event utbildning turismutbildning turism" src="/sites/default/files/content/seeman_ychl.jpg" style="height: 506px; width: 800px;" /></p><p>– Jag gick på många olika nätverksträffar runt om i Stockholm. Det var i och för sig ofta trevliga tillställningar, men det gav mig sällan så mycket. Jag ville ha mer inspiration, mer unga människor, som likt jag själv ville utveckla och utvecklas. Jag kontaktade Visita, branschorganisationen för besöksnäringen hösten 2014 och frågade om de ville hjälpa mig, där fick jag kontakt med Maria Tielman och Stockholmsstyrelsen som tyckte det var en bra idé. Jag startade då YCHL, Young Creative Hospitality Leaders, med syfte är att forma och genomföra regelbundna nätverksträffar för unga ledare i besöksnäringen i åldern 23 – 29 år. Efter ett år tillsatte jag en styrgrupp med 4 personer från branschen i samma ålderspann då naturligtvis. Idag 2017 har vi genomfört ca 15 nätverksträffar, lite inspirationsföreläsningar, en stor Summit 2016, och den andra Summiten äger rum 27 april 2017.</p><p><em>– Du pratade tidigare om hur mycket de gamla rävarna på Stallmästaregården betytt för dig i ditt lärande men här kommer de inte in?</em></p><p>– Det stämmer men enstaka inspirationsföreläsningar och paneldebatter är öppna för alla, inom den svenska besöksnäringen, oavsett ålder. Jag ser detta som en plats att ventilera frågor för oss som är yngre för att det ibland kan vara svårt att göra sin röst hörd, och här kan vi pröva våra tankar med varandra om hur man kan göra saker på nya sätt. Meningen är inte att polarisera de olika generationerna mot varandra, snarare att bygga kunskap så att vi kan sammarbeta bättre, en bra mix av kön och ålder ger det bästa slutresultatet.</p><p><em>– Och om ett år får du inte vara med längre?</em></p><p>– Skratt, oj, hur ska det gå? Får titta över stadgarna :-)</p><p><em>– Men nu är du alltså Food and Beverage Manager på Pop House Stockholm, även kallat ABBA-museet. Vad var det som lockade?</em></p><p>– Det var mycket som lockade, spännande varumärke med musik i fokus, dragningskraften i ABBA, Djurgården som destination och många sköna kollegor.</p><p><em>– Kan du utveckla dina tankar om Djurgården som destination?</em></p><p>– Det passerar ca 15 miljoner människor över bron till Djurgården varje år, det är inte ett resultat av en specifik attraktion, utan vårt samlade utbud, vi är beroende av varandra och vi hjälper varandra för att fler ska hitta till Djurgården och därmed också fler som hittar till Pop House. Det är en fantastisk miljö att vara i med ett otroligt stort utbud av mat, nöje, kultur, natur m.m.</p><p><em>– Här måste jag också fråga om du fått träffa ABBA medlemmarna?</em></p><p>– Det frågar alla :-) Men hittills har jag bara träffat Björn.</p><p><em>– Du känns väldigt engagerad i din yrkesroll men även i din bransch med nätverk, poddsändningar om branschen m.m. vad är det som driver ditt branschintresse?</em></p><p><img alt=" yrkeshögskola yh-utbildning event utbildning turismutbildning turism" src="/sites/default/files/content/seeman-scen.jpg" style="height: 543px; width: 800px;" /></p><p>– Besöksnäringen är extremt viktig för Sverige ur många perspektiv, inte bara det mest uppenbara att skapa arbetstillfällen och få in skatt. Det är också en bransch som står för mycket roligt och trevligt för människor, det behöver vi. Vi är också inne i stora förändringar i branschen. Branschorganisationen Visita har kvalitetssäkrat mycket gällande arbetsvillkor och schyssta arbetsplatser.  De flesta arbetsgivare håller på att tänka om vad gäller hållbarhet, arbetstider och kompetensutveckling för att gå från en genomfartsbransch när det gäller anställningar till att behålla och utveckla kompetensen i branschen.</p><p>Det är brist på kompetens i branschen och alla har ett ansvar att lära ut och utveckla medarbetare, men det kostar också. Ser vi på samhället i stort så skulle jag säga att vi är den bästa branschen för att öka integreringen av de människor som kommer till Sverige, vi blir bättre av en bra mix av generationer och etnisk bakgrund.</p><p><em>– Du har verkligen många tankar och järn i elden, hur hinner du?</em></p><p>– Som vi började den här intervjun, ”Varför göra som man alltid gjort?”, jag gillar att pröva mina tankar i praktiken och det var det jag gillade med IHM också, man arbetade i nuet och höll inte på att traggla teorier. Mycket hjärngympa som man satte på plats i praktiska case, mycket bra!</p><p><em>– Riktigt kul att träffa dig Sebastian, tack för att du tog dig tid med intervjun och lycka till med allt!</em></p><p>– Tack själv, bara kul, vettifan om du blev något klokare nu, jag hoppas jag bidrog med något i alla fall ☺</p><p><em>När jag går därifrån strålar solen över Djurgården och det är många turister från hela världen som är på väg mot någon upplevelse. Om jag ska sammanfatta mina tankar om Sebastian i ett ord så blir det energi! Får jag några mer ord på mig så skulle jag säga att han har mycket kloka tankar, några av dem har jag försökt förmedla här, han har nära till skratt och om vi kunde koppla upp han och några till mot energinätet så skulle vi förmodligen inte behöva några andra energikällor. Då kunde besöksnäringen ta hand om våra kärnkraftverk, vind- och vattenkraftsanläggningar och kanske hitta på nya spännande destinationer för världens turism.
