Jag går på Drottninggatan i Stockholm och plötsligt så är det som om jag känner någonting ovanför huvudet. Det svischar i luften. Just som jag tänker titta upp så är det tyst igen. Svänger runt hörnet och går upp emot Strindbergsstatyn i parken där även Astrid Lindgren fått en staty. Liten visserligen, men ändock en staty, och solen skiner igen, och då, nämen, men va!  Vad i hela friden! Visst är det väl Anders Ljung som kommer nedför backen emot mig och,

Jag säger: 

Ljungen! Vad gör du här? Du dog ju för över 40 år sedan! 

Och Ljungen säger:

SÅ du är här nu.

Jag sneglar över axeln ner mot Drottninggatan och jag ser en folksamling precis där jag hörde svischandet, ligger en kropp på marken, någonting tungt föll från ett tak. Någon blev träffad och dog direkt.

Men inte jag. Väl?

Jag är i Parken och jag ser flera av dom andra. Du vet, dom där som gick före fast det inte var menat så:

Alla döda som jag minns. Kommer på rad. Ljungen går först. Lika självsäker och kavat, lika glad som han var den där sista sommaren då vi hade en hemlig klubb i skogen vid fabriken. BBL, Big Boss Liga. Och kojan. Och Lasse K som seglade vidare i båten i havet någonstans, ständigt på väg in mot stranden, kommer där borta med hissade segel och Åkerlind den snygge ,vad hände honom egentligen och Kalle P och Dennis som körde för fort i nya bilen, Anders B, Krusses lillasyrra och Jogga. Och många fler. Vad skulle det ha blivit av alla dom där om inte OM funnits? 

Är det slumpen som avgör vilka som får går först? Är det Gud?

Borta är dom likafullt.

Och jag ser far och mor komma emot mig och jag förstår att jag är i DEN Parken, en helt annan park än jag trodde först. 

Hej, säger jag. Hej på er.

Vi har gått bredvid dig hela tiden, säger mor, och tittat på dig. 

Jag vet säger jag, jag har anat.

Far säger först ingenting, han bara går. Och jag gör som när jag var barn. Snorar efter. Följer i hans fotspår.

Sen säger han:

Du märkte att jag var med, va, när du åkte hiss häromdagen, du hörde harklingen bakom ryggen på dig?

Jo, säger, jag, nog märkte jag det.

Och jag förstår att nu är jag en av dom, jag är också borta nu, fast jag inte ville egentligen. Hade tänkt vara med några år till. Men det kanske man alltid har tänkt efter den där dagen då det är dags, fast du inte tror att den skall komma. Någonsin. Men det gör den. Men det gick ju så fort. Finns ju mycket ogjort, tänker jag, och kanske skulle jag ha tänkt efter, före, i vissa lägen. Kanske inte sagt vissa saker? Inte gjort alla dumma grejor. Så dags. 

Men du, det finns ju egentligen ingenting att ångra, vad skulle det vara i så fall och vad skulle du kunna göra åt det NU, undrar Ljungen. 

Och sen vi kliver på cyklarna och trampar ner till Sandbankarna för att bada. Vi har filtarna med oss, som vanligt, och badbyxorna hängande på styrena och vi lägger oss framstupa över styrena och vi forsar fram i 180 i Svarthamnsbacken, slänger cyklarna i gräset sen och lägger oss bland dynerna. Jag undrar vart far och mor tog vägen, men samtidigt inte. Dom kommer väl tillbaka eller så är dom här i närheten hinner jag tänka.

Vafan, säger Ljungen, du fick ju vara med, jag fick 16 år. Kan du tänka dig? Jag var 16 år när jag dog, det är ju ingenting, jag skulle ju ha gift mig med Maggan från Marma, minns du henne, hon med dom stora brösten!

Jo, jag minns, säger jag, minns Maggan och minns brösten.

Och så börjar vi minnas och prata om Ljungens korta tid på jorden och vi minns när vi stal sprit från hans pappa och hällde i saften och när hans mormor kom och bjöd på bulle och vi minns smaken på kanelbulle doppad i kaffekask och vi minns när Ljungen skadade ena ögat när han drog i en gummisnodd som gick av och for in i ögat.

Gjorde ont va, säger jag.

Gjorde ont, säger Ljungen. 

Men det var inte bara du som försvann, säger jag, det mesta är borta, det gamla landet finns inte kvar längre. 

Och sen vaknar jag hemma i sängen och funderar på hur jag tar vara på tiden och hur och om jag tar hand om mina medmänniskor och om jag har gjort någon nytta i livet. Egentligen. Något som inte bara gynnat mig. Kanske borde engagera mig mer? I morgon kan det vara försent.
